As we discover the immense blessings of God’s grace, we are called to reach out and extend those blessings to others. Many find that through service, they discover new–often unexpected–transformative blessings. Those blessings come in the form of new experiences, enriched relationships and deeper connections with each other and with God. “For it is in giving that we receive.” St. Francis of Assisi
At La Selva Beach Community Church, we are called to respond to the needs of the local community and the world. We strive to invest our personal and financial resources where they are needed most–from providing loving counsel and a warm meal to a neighbor, to disaster relief, refugee resettlement and development aid. In addition to our church’s independent outreach ministries, a portion of our church’s income and fund raising efforts support many local organizations, such as:
Adopt-A-Family Holiday Project
Dientes Community Dental Care
Diversity Center of Santa Cruz
Habitat for Humanity Santa Cruz County
Homeless Services Center in Santa Cruz
Hospice of Santa Cruz County
Loaves & Fishes Family Kitchen
Pacific School of Religion (PSR)
Pajaro Valley Shelter Services
Santa Cruz AIDS Project (SCAP)
Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz
Siena House Maternity Home of Santa Cruz County
St. Francis Soup Kitchen in Santa Cruz
UCC Coalition for LGBT Concerns
Women’s Crisis Support of Santa Cruz County
Queer Youth Task Force
The list above reflects the needs and interests of our members and local community.
Our worldwide outreach is accomplished by targeted campaigns (such as Hurricane Katrina, Haiti, and Darfur relief) and partnership with the UCC, through Our Church’s Wider Mission and One Great Hour of Sharing. All our outreach efforts are made possible by the grace of God, through the abundance of time, talent and financial resources our members and friends invest in our shared mission.
